First Time Presedential Alert Tested

On Wednesday, October 3rd, at 2:18 p.m. people got presedential alert text message to their cellphones in the United States. Text message is actually a  part of Presendial Alert system. Presedential Alert System could send message to all 225 million people almost %75 of the population in America. They were gonna make test on 20th September, but they did the test earlier probably due to Hurricane Florence.

Many people thought about that alert message would be gonna Trump’s announcement channel but FEMA (The Federal Emergency Management Agency) made a statement about the situation. They claim that presedential alert is related with national emergency notice and will not be any politic tool. They also said that test is a part of update after decades and let the president broadcast on every TV and radio channel on countrywide.

So, Presedental Alert includes that message:

“THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”

At the same time at 2.20 p.m. each on TV and radio channel, that message followed the alert with a voice. And voice explain what is that test about, who makes that test and what would have been if it is real situation even more.

Why Did Feds Send a Test Alert Message?

Actually, it is the first time feds try their alert system. Many people think they sent the alert message due to hurricanes or some kind of weather informations, but many others think it may be because of possibility for an emergency situation like war, attack or more serious. Some conspiracy theories claim that is because of poisoned envelopes send to Pentagon. However, at last, authorities made statement about alert system is only a test just in case they may need. There is nothing to worry about and as message says you do not need to take any action.
